What it is
This tool maps relationships between Connecticut property owners, registered businesses, and their principals to reveal ownership networks and concentration patterns.
Data Sources
- CT Business Registry β Business Master
- CT Business Registry β Principals
- CT 2024 Parcel & CAMA
- Supplemental municipal assessor pages (VGSI/QA) for filling gaps and updating records. (There's a lot left to do here.)
- Coming soon: AI digest report based on property ownership data, a comprehensive analysis of ownership patterns and trends, a web search for recent developments or news, and more. Mind the bugginess.
- Future enhancements: Improved entity resolution, additional data sources like code enforcement data (which I haven't found a good way to get ahold of yet), and more robust analytics to identify ownership patterns as they evolve, hopefully ultimately almost in real time. Who are these people buying our cities and leaving them in disrepair?
How it works
- Normalization: Standardizes business and principal names for robust matching.
- Linking: Connects principals β businesses β properties.
- Pre-computed networks: Back-end processes build ownership networks nightly.
- Caching: Insights and reports are cached for speed.
